WB US 60 reopened following multiple crashes near Priest Drive; one dead | Phoenix Traffic

TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Multiple crashes temporarily closed westbound US 60 at Mill Avenue Monday morning. The westbound lanes were previously closed at Priest Drive, where the crashes happened. Around 2:30 p.m, westbound lanes were reopened.

According to the Department of Public Safety, one person has died, and several others were hurt. DPS says a Kia Sorrento was heading west on US 60 approaching Priest Drive when it struck the center wall head-on. The impact rolled the vehicle over, with part of the wreckage landing on top of a Tesla. A semi-truck then hit both vehicles.

A woman in her late 70s, who was a passenger in the Sorrento, died from her injuries, DPS says. The driver of the Sorrento has life-threatening injuries, and two other people in the crashes had minor injuries, according to DPS.
