Rebekah Vardy says ‘shameful’ Peter Andre comments among her ‘biggest regrets’

Rebekah Vardy has said that derogatory comments she made about Peter Andre were “shameful” and among her “biggest regrets”.

Under questioning from her lawyer Hugh Tomlinson QC in the fourth day of the libel trial today, Mrs Vardy was asked about comments she made about the singer’s body in a 2004 News of the World interview.

The alleged kiss-and-tell interview with Mrs Vardy, which she was questioned about by Mrs Rooney’s lawyer this week, carried the headline: “Peter’s hung like a small chipolata, shaved, slobbery, lasts five minutes.”

Speaking from the witness box today, Mrs Vardy said of her 2004 comments: “It’s shameful reading that and it’s one of my biggest regrets”.

“I was very young,” she said, adding that she has since sent Mr Andre and his wife “personal messages”.

The trial continues.
