Ash Barty announces engagement to Garry Kissick

Australian tennis superstar Ash Barty has announced her engagement to her partner of four years, Garry Kissick.

The number one women’s tennis player in the world shared a sweet post of the couple embracing on Instagram, writing, “Future husband πŸ’β€οΈ” and tagging her now-fiancΓ©.

Kissick, meanwhile, shared an extra image, alongside the date of their engagement β€” November 15.

“15/11/2021 πŸ’,” Kissick wrote with his announcement. “I love you [Ash Barty] ❀.”

Kissick’s announcement also included an image of himself gently kissing Barty on the forehead as she beams at the camera and shows off her new bling.

Barty, 25, has been in a relationship with the 30-year-old professional golfer since 2017.

The duo met at the Brookwater Golf Club in 2016, which is the same venue where she won a championship over four years later.

Well-wishers flooded the comments with their congratulations, with the Women’s Tennis Association β€” where Barty is ranked No. 1 β€” being one of the first.

“Congratulations, both! ❀️‍πŸ”₯,” the Women’s Tennis Association commented.

“Congratulations to you both! 😍 ❀️,” Tennis Australia commented.

Director of the Brisbane Lions Cathie Reid also commented, “Congratulations!!!!” as did fellow tennis player Jaimee Fourlis, who wrote, “OMGGG CONGRATS !!!”

Reality star Reece Hignell wrote, “😭😭😭 congratulations πŸŽ‰ such a beautiful way to cap a Stella year. πŸ‘”

Earlier this week, Barty joined the likes of Serena Williams and Martina Navratilova by marking the milestone of holding the year-end No. 1 ranking for the third consecutive time.
